AZAM Rwanda Premier League champions APR have agreed personal terms with Police FC midfielder Mirafa Nizeyimana ahead of his move next month, Times Sport has learnt. The 25-year old is expected to sign a two-year contract with the military side in August, worth Rwf5m, and a monthly salary of Rwf500,000. It is also reported that the club will cater for his accommodation. While the midfielder played down speculation about his future, he did not make secret of his admiration for APR. “I am still a Police FC player till end of the season. My focus right now is to help the team win the Peace Cup title, and not my transfer. However, APR are a team that I would love to play for and be part of the club’s rich history,” Nizeyimana told Times Sport on Tuesday. Soft spoken Nizeyimana, who previously played for Etincelles, joined the law enforcers’ side in August 2016 and has since been one of the best holding midfielders in the country. It is believed APR see him as a perfect replacement for Djihad Bizimana who joined Belgian topflight league side Waasland-Beveren last month. The record 17-time Rwandan champions will represent the country at the 2019 CAF Champions League after dethroning rivals Rayon Sports to win the league title. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
