WESTERN PROVINCE NGORORERO — cyprien Nsengimana, the Ngororero district Mayor has said about 21 junior secondary schools will be constructed in the district this academic year. This is in line with the implementation of the nine- year Basic Education policy aimed at increasing access to education by promoting universal primary education in the country. ‘We adopted the government’s new move within the education sector. There have been very few secondary schools in our district but we are committed to construct 21 schools this year’, the Mayor said. Nsengimana, added that the district is working hard to speed up the construction works in order to keep up with the same pace set by other districts. The construction move is a follow up of the recent call by the Ministry of Education to Mayors for sector authorities to construct additional junior secondary schools within these administrative units. Mayors were asked to ensure that at least one or two junior secondary schools are built in each sector within each district. Ends
