RNEC: Online results way to go
The announcement by the Rwanda National Examinations Council (RNEC) of plans to have results posted online is indeed a positive development. This will not only ensure easy accessibility of the results by students themselves, but their teachers too. Gone are the days when students and parents had to wait for long periods to get their results. This is also a cost effective way of disseminating the results online as it means that the money spent on transport fares by parents can now be utilised for other purposes. This is in line with Rwanda’s goal of becoming an Information Communication Technology (ICT) hub, meaning it is not going to be business as usual in all aspects of Rwandan life, as ICT development will take centre stage in every sector.
