As school starts there are probably children at your school who feel shy to mingle with others. They look down when someone speaks to them because they lack self confidence. Times like these are the best for children to build self confidence. Self-confidence is when you simply love yourself and think you are the best. God said He created us in His own image and likeness. This means He made us in a way he liked the most. You don’t have to be perfect in everything. The trick is to appreciate and believe in who you are. Children can have self-confidence by not waiting for other people to do everything for them. When you are praised for your good work your confidence grows. In the same way you should praise your friends when they do something good for you so that it is a two way process. You can appreciate them by saying words like, “Thank you, you are smart or you have a nice smile!” This will help them become confident. Discouraging your friends does not help them to become confident. Always look for the good in others and in the same way they will also see the good in you. With this ‘The Children’s Times’ wishes you a happy and successful new term. Ends
