It will also mark Rwanda’s historic first time to host any ICC tournament. The week-long tourney will be contested by four countries; Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and hosts Rwanda. According to fixtures released by Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) this week, the national team will open up count at the tournament against Tanzania before taking on Kenya the next day. The opening game will start with an exciting and action-packed game between Kenya taking on Uganda in the morning of the opening day – July 7. The four teams in Kigali will compete for two qualification spots in the Africa Regional Finals, to be held in 2019, from which the top two teams will again qualify for the ultimate qualifiers. The qualifiers tournament in Rwanda is one of the three African sub-regional qualifiers, along with the North-Western sub region qualifiers (staged in Nigeria) and the Southern sub region qualifiers to be held in Bostwana. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
