Rwandan artistes are not resting as they keep dropping bangers on bangers that keep music lovers on their feet. The likes of Bruce The 1st, Ish Kevin and Bulldog among others, blessed music consumers with new hit songs, and The New Times’ picks some of the best tracks that trended last week. Bwe Bwe Bwe - Bruce the 1st ft. Ish Kevin, Kenny Kshot and Bulldog Bruce the 1st, aka Wambere, one of the promising rappers of Kigali, recently blessed the hip hop community of Rwanda with a new track dubbed ‘Bwe Bwe Bwe’ produced in the old school hip hop of the 90s and early 2000s. Produced by a new kid on the block known as Juni Quickly, the now hit song features Bruce the 1st's long-time collaborators including the likes of Ish Kevin, who gave him his first hit song 'Tugende', Kenny Kshot and legendary Bulldog who is not a newcomer in making old-school hip hop bangers. The song started making noise before its official release date, thanks to Ish Kevin who dropped a snippet of his verse on the song early this month. The song has so far gained momentum inside the country, and the youngins are not resting as they launched a plot to save hip hop through rapping on old-school hip-hop beats. ‘Bwe Bwe Bwe’ is number one trending song in Rwanda on AudioMack. Magic – Nillan ft. Kivumbi Nillan is clear proof that Rwanda is rich on music talents and his recently released acoustic version of ‘Magic’ that features Kivumbi King showcases the artiste’s ability to create what has never been crafted before in Rwanda’s music industry. Produced by Quba Badman, with heavy groove electronic guitar melodies played by Morane lee, the Afro-pop song is already heading at the top of charts. Nillan is not new to creating masterpieces, his debut album ‘City Boy’ is one of the best afro-fusion albums to come out of his generation. Jugumila – DJ Phil Peter ft. Chris Eazy and Kevin Kade It’s been weeks since ‘Jugumila’ dropped, but the song has refused to leave the first place on charts despite all the good tracks that are released day by day. With over 2,000, 000 clicks on YouTube within less than a month, the song is everywhere in the country and can’t be stopped. It follows Kevin Kade’s ‘Munda’ which is also still a big thing in Rwanda’s music industry. Like Me – Jaja ft. Logan Joe US-based Rwandan rapper Jaja is back and has already dropped a fresh hit that features Logan Joe, one of the best vocalists in the game today. Produced by Ehlers, ‘Like Me’ follows Jaja breakthrough songs including Drill Move that features Ish Kevin, Nitwewunva with Bruce the 1st among many others. Akanyoni – Okkama Okkama started the year enjoying the takeover of his debut EP that holds big tunes like Akanyoni which is already a big thing in the country. Akanyoni’s video clip premiered Friday, March 22, with the help of producer Santana Sauce and A Taher Visual. Angel & Demon – Kivumbi King ft. Nviiri the Storyteller Kivumbi King is on a mission to take Rwandan music to places and his recently released two tracks proves it. Just weeks after dropping ‘Wait’, which was produced by Uganda’s Naxon, the youngster also released a collabo with Nviiri the Storyteller which is already heading at the top of charts. Dubbed ‘Angel & Demon’, to song is already a big tune both in Rwanda and Kenya, with over 150, 000 views on YouTube. Ntabya Gang – Papa Cyangwe ft. Bushali Papa Cyangwe is not giving up his music career as he keeps on chasing collabos with big local artistes. This time the young rapper has teamed up with the head of Kinyatrap gang, Bushali, on his new song dubbed ‘Ntabya Gang’, which is already topping charts with over 100, 000 views on YouTube within less than 10 days. 2 Soon album – Sid Wurld Canada-based artiste Sid Wurld recently dropped his maiden album that has zero skips. 2 Soon, which comprises seven tracks and was released on March 8, is already a big thing both in Canada and Rwanda, having good tunes like Hennesy, Woza, Vibe and many others produced in the new wave of Afro-fusion style of Nigerian stars like AV, Omah Lay, Rema and many others.
