Rwanda’s finest DJs, known as Dream Team DJs, are in preparations to entertain party goers in Rubavu District, Western Province, as they celebrate a two-year spinning disc experience. The three-day bash will start June 29 to July 1 at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Dream Team DJs comprise of four DJs, namely DJ Toxxyk, DJ Miller, DJ Marnaud and DJ Jullz, who joined forces in 2016. DJ Miller, real name Virgil Karuhanga, told The New Times that as a team, they have a reason to celebrate, having contributed to the promotion of Rwandan music in the region and beyond. “It’s been two years since we joined forces. We want to bring a deejay revolution to the industry, and we are proud of our contribution to the music industry, especially regarding Rwandan music. We want to do our thing in a unique way as it is something we have been doing for years,” he said. Miller said the second edition of the party will be all about conveying the best nonstop music mixes at the venue, and keeping their supporters and music lovers happy. “This is the first time we are having the celebration out of Kigali, but we know people will have fun, given our experience in what we do. We expect it will be a long weekend of entertainment. They will not regret joining us,” he said. Entrance tickets go for Rwf 5000 for the first and second days, and Rwf 10 000 during the final days. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
