Saturday Semi-finals, first leg AS Muhanga 2-1 Sorwathe Pepiniere 0-0 Intare AS Muhanga defeated Sorwathe 2-1 on Saturday at Muhanga Stadium in the first leg of the second tier semi-finals to draw closer to a return to Azam Rwanda Premier League. The former Peace Cup finalists scored in the 21st minute through Dieudonne Ndayishimiye before Yannick Bizimana doubled their lead in the 43rd minute. Striker Emmanuel Niyitegeka scored the consolation goal for Sorwathe in the 58th minute. In an interview with Times Sport,AS Muhanga coach Abdu Mbarushimana showered his players with praises for the crucial victory before warning them against complacency as they get ready for the reverse encounter on June 16. “I have spoken with the players; we should remain focused and determined until we confirm a slot in the topflight league. There is no time to relax, we are starting preps for the return-leg clash on Monday (today),” Mbarushimana said. A draw will be enough for AS Muhanga to book automatic ticket to Azam Rwanda Premier League.
