Today APR Vs Police, 3:30pm Police FC coach Albert Joel Mphande has claimed his side will be looking for nothing short of a victory when they host giants APR this afternoon at Kigali Stadium. Mphande is yet to lose a league game since taking over Police FC as head coach in April however he will be battling history because the law enforcers have only defeated APR once in the last ten years. Ahead of today’s encounter, there are two unanswered questions whether Mphande is going to be the man to deter APR’s dominance over Police or if APR will be the first side to defeat Police under Mphande. “Since arriving at the club, the reception and mood in the locker-room have been excellent. It explains why we have been doing well in the last few games. After the draw against Rayon Sports last week, we are now onto another tough clash against APR on Sunday (today) and, the aim is to win,” Mphande told Sunday Sport yesterday. He further praised his players’ mental strength before admitting that the league title is out of his side’s reach, noting that “a top four finish is what we are fighting for this season” before the club and team management set out higher ambitions for next season. In a separate interview, his APR counterpart Ljubomir Petrovic said that “APR’s target is to collect maximum points from the six remaining league games. We want to be the league title but nothing would be guaranteed if we drop points in any game. It’s definitely a tough call.” Meanwhile, Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has released fixtures of the remaining match-days of the topflight league and the Peace Cup Competition.
