It was reported recently that Forces Démocratiques de la Libération du Rwanda (FDLR), a Rwandan rebel group based in DRC fired shots at a village in Rwanda. It was also reported that no person was killed or injured. These militias fired bullet across the border in a cowardly way because they only shot and immediately ran back to the jungles of DRC. They knew if they had stayed for an extra second, they would not have withstood the fighting. If these rebels dared Rwanda, although they missed their target and they are being given a safe haven in DRC, then Rwanda should start thinking of a step beyond diplomacy. I would say immediate action has to be taken against these ill-intentioned rebels; otherwise they will continue to dare the country. The UN has not done anything tangible to stop these rebels. The same happens with the Kinshasa government which has continuously equipped the militia to cause insecurity in the border districts. The issue of this rebel group will soon get out of hand if the government does not take a decisive step to stop them. Kanombe
