Ambassador Nkubito Manzi Bakuramutsa early this week presented his letters of credence to His Excellency Say Chhum, the Acting Head of State of Cambodia. This ceremony took place in Cambodia's Senate House. ALSO READ: Rwandan envoy presents credentials in Cambodia At the presentation ceremony, Say Chhum praised the leadership of President Paul Kagame and Rwanda's impressive development accomplishments over the past 24 years. He conveyed his heartfelt wishes for ongoing prosperity and peace to the people of Rwanda. Furthermore, he affirmed Cambodia's readiness to collaborate closely with Rwanda to enhance friendly relations and cooperation between the two nations. Ambassador Bakuramutsa conveyed the warm regards of President Kagame and the people of Rwanda. He reiterated his dedication to nurturing the amicable relations between Rwanda and Cambodia. The Ambassador pledged to collaborate with the Cambodian government to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote cultural and trade exchanges, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships. During his stay in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Ambassador Bakuramutsa conducted several courtesy visits to government officials, including H.E. SOK Chenda Sophae, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The meeting served as an opportunity to assess the already strong bilateral relations between Rwanda and Cambodia and propose a strategic plan through the initiation of a policy dialogue aimed at elevating the partnership between the two countries to new heights. Additionally, Ambassador Nkubito met with Dr. CHEA Serey, the Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, to review ongoing engagements with Rwanda's Central Bank. He also held discussions with Chanthol SUN, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), regarding potential partnerships between the Rwanda Development Board and CDC on investments. He also paid courtesy visits to Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Commerce, and the Director General of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce. The Ambassador convened with Rwandans residing in the Kingdom of Cambodia to reaffirm Rwanda's commitment to its diaspora and to share significant upcoming national agendas such as the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
