Former Rayon Sports coach Baptiste Kayiranga have penned a three-year contract as head coach of Tanzania’s Vodacom premier league side – Alliance Sports Club. 45-year old Kayiranga joins the Tanzanian side a month after he was appointed as head coach of the national women’s football team that was due to compete in the CECAFA Women Senior Challenge mid this month in Kigali. The regional tournament was called off at the last minute after the CECAFA Secretariat delayed to provide the budget to organize the competition, which was scheduled for May 11-22. The newly promoted Alliance Sports Club will be marking their first maiden season in the Tanzania’s topflight football league in the 2018/2019 campaign – starting in September. While talking to Sunday Sport from Tanzania on Saturday, Kayiranga said that, “This is a new horizon to my coaching career, a great opportunity to learn and enjoy football out of Rwanda. I will look forward to the challenge and guiding my new team to success.” Previously, the Rayon Sports legend has coached Rayon Sports, Pepiniere FC, SC Kiyovu, Mukura and Gicumbi. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
