Mental Health Talk This evening, experts and panellists will discuss mental health under the topic “Therapy: A need or a luxury?” Panellists include Dr Emmanuel Rwililiza, a psychiatrist, Dr Jemma Hogwood, a clinical psychologist and fashion designer Sonia Mugabo. It will take place at the Kigali Public Library starting at 6pm. Hult Prize Rwanda -National Finals This is a flagship event of the Hult Prize Rwanda National programme, bringing together over 700 people in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country and the top six entrepreneurial teams from universities across the country that have come up with the most innovative social business addressing this year’s Hult Prize global challenge “Harnessing the Power of Energy to transform lives of people”. They will be competing for a grand prize of $30,000 and a spot in the global accelerator to compete for the global grand prize of $1m. It takes place today from 3pm to 7pm at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV). Kigali International Peace Marathon Over 8000 participants from around the world are expected to participate in the 14th Kigali International Peace Marathon scheduled for Sunday, May 20. The race is comprised of three categories; full marathon (42km), half marathon (21km) and a 7km run-for-fun, which is open to members of the public who registered. The marathon will start at the Amahoro National Stadium. Gospel Concert Local musician Arsene Tuyiringire, alias Arsene Tuyi, will host a gospel concert dubbed “Pentecost Hymn” at Evangelical Restoration Church in Masoro, Kigali on May 20. He will be launching his first album, ‘Umujyi w’Amashimwe’. The concert will see gospel artistes such as Patient Bizimana, Gaby Kamanzi, Shining Stars Family and Shekinah Worship team, among others, performing. The concert, which will be free of charge, is expected to start at 4pm. Album Launch Husband-and-wife duo Ben Serugo and Chance Abigail Mbanza Juru will launch their album titled ‘Izina rya Yesu rirakomeye’, featuring songs like ‘Izina rya Yesu Rirakomeye’, ‘Urera Mana Nzima’ and ‘Mana Urubuhungiro’, on Sunday, May 20. The live concert will also feature performances from renowned local solo artistes and choirs including Aline Gahongayire, Gentil Bigizi, Alarm Ministries and Healing Worship Team, among others. The concert will be held at Kigali Serena Hotel. Doors open at 4pm. Entrance fee is Rwf3000 (regular), Rwf5000 (VIP section) and Rwf10,000 (VVP section). Movies Have fun with family and friends as you watch the latest movies; Avengers Infinity War, Traffik, Early Man and Raazi are showing this weekend at Century Cinema, Kigali located at Kigali City Tower. Showtime is 3:30pm to 9pm. Night clubs If you are still looking for places to hang out this weekend, worry not. Kigali has a number of night spots that include The Junction, Chillax Lounge, K-Club, Envy club, People’s Club and Ogopogo.
