The former Police FC head coach takes charge of his first league game with Musanze this afternoon, hosting Mukura at Ubworoherane Stadium. The game starts 3:30p.m. Seninga, who resigned as Police head coach a fortnight ago, took over the hot seat at Musanze – replacing interim coach Billy Mbusa Kombi – on a two-month renewable contract. Kombi now serves as assistant to Seninga. Speaking to Saturday Sport on Friday, Musanze secretary-general Moussa Masumbuko said: “We have signed Seninga as our new head coach for the next two months and his experience in local football makes him suitable for the position.” In a separate interview, Seninga said, “I am excited for the new chapter in my career. I have signed a two month-contract and I am ready to give my best. I have been tasked to guide the club to a top six finish in the league and I am confident it’s possible.” All we need to achieve our target is working hard and to be focused and determined, he added. Musanze will go into today’s league clash against Francis Haringingo’s Mukura while occupying the tenth position – on the 16-team table standings – with 22 points. There are eleven rounds of league matches left to the end of the season. AS Kigali lead the table with 37 points, one point ahead of APR and three points ahead of defending champions Rayon Sports. Kiyovu complete top four with 32 points. In another topflight football league encounter due today, Nyamagabe-based Amagaju will host Etincelles. On Sunday, eighth-placed Bugesera will host record 16-time champions APR , bottom side Miroplast will face Kirehe at Mironko Stadium, while Kiyovu and Gicumbi will be facing off at Mumena Stadium. Meanwhile, Rayon Sports was supposed to play Police but the game has been postponed by Rwanda Football Association (Ferwafa) due to the fact that Rayon will be playing their CAF Confederation Cup group opener against Kenyan giants Gor Mahia at Kigali Regional Stadium on Sunday (tomorrow). editorial@newtimes.co.rw
