AZAM RWANDA Premier League side Kirehe FC have named François Kalisa as their new head coach and tasked him with making the clubs stay in top flight league. He signed a six-month contract to replace Abdoul Karim ‘Coka’ Nduhirabandi, who resigned last week Club president Christopher Munyangeri told Times Sport yesterday that Kalisa’s immediate task is to turn around the fortunes of the Eastern Province-based club, which sits 12th on the league table, so they can avoid relegation. “His main task is to make sure we stay in this division and also be innovative in training sessions because our players have been unfit for a long time, that is why we had disagreements with the previous coach,” Munyangeri said. In the sixteen matches that they have played so far, Kirehe FC have only won 4, drew 3 and lost 9. APR FC lead the league table with 31 points, one point ahead of second-placed Rayon Sports, while AS Kigali are third place with 29 points. Previously, Kalisa was the head coach of Espoir FC. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
