In an exclusive interview with The New Times, Rwandan sensation Bruce Melodie delved into his musical journey, offering insights into his evolution from a budding artiste to a celebrated singer-songwriter. Reflecting on his early days, Bruce revealed that his musical journey began in 2006, where he initially explored rap as his primary genre. However, it was fellow artiste Amag The Black who unearthed Bruce's hidden vocal talent, steering him towards a path of R&B and soulful melodies. Over time, people began acknowledging my voice, affirming its quality, he added. Despite the dominance of rap music during that era, Bruce found his niche in R&B, but was heavily inspired by the likes of Tough Gang and Diplomat. Sharing a behind-the-scenes anecdote from his music career, Bruce reminisced about the making of 'Abu Dhabi' in 2020. Crafting my album since 2021, I'm aiming for a May release, he revealed, expressing confidence in exceeding expectations with this album.
