RWANDA international middle and long-distance runner Félicien Muhitira is buoyant to put up a good show at the 2018 Stramilano Half Marathon scheduled for Sunday. The race starts at 10:30am Rwandan time, at Piazza Castello in Milan - Italy. The 43rd edition of the annual Half-Marathon event has attracted a record 7000 participants, professionals and amateurs, from different part of the world. The 21.093km Stramilano Half-Marathon is one of Italy’s most respected athletics races. Speaking to Sunday Sport from Italy on Saturday, Muhitira said, “I think am in good shape and fit for the race. It’s going to be a tough one against Kenyans and Ethiopians among other top challengers, but, I am determined to do everything I can for a podium finish, why not!” “I am making my debut appearance in Milan, which makes the race quiet special, but I look forward to leaving my footprints here,” the 23-year old vowed. A fortnight ago, Muhitira finished in fifth place at the 44th Roma Ostia Half Marathon, a position he said is contented with although his target was to come in the top three. American Galen Rupp clocked a personal best 59:47 to win the annual 21.1km race in Italian capital. Muhitira crossed the finish-line in 1:02:05.
