Former league champions SC Kiyovu are leading the table with 23 points, followed by AS Kigali who beat Kirehe 3-1 on Saturday. Skipper, Fabrice Mugheni Kakure netted the opener with a header in the 36th minute off a well taken corner by Djuma Nizeyimana. In the 65th minute Congolese born Mugheni Kakure was replaced by Francis Mustafa. The Burundian forward Mustafa scored the second goal in the 80th minute after an assist by Innocent Habyarimana. The hosts dominated the proceedings from the start of the first half but missed several opportunities. Two minutes to the stoppage time, Rachid Kalisa was red-carded after receiving a second yellow card. In other matches, Sunrise beat Mukura 1-0, Etincelles humiliated Miroplast 6-0.
