The final preselection of Miss Rwanda 2018 has seen 20 out of 35 contestants advance in the next stage of the annual beauty pageant, and are finally going for the boot camp. The final selection was held on Saturday at PSF Expo Ground, in Gikondo, Kicukiro District. The lucky 20 contestants were selected after each appeared for question-answer session before the panel of judges led by the Miss Rwanda 2009 first runner up Carine Rusaro, Kiss FM radio presenter Sandrine Isheja Butera and Francine Uwera Havugimana from the Private Sector. The selected contestants include one who got the most SMS votes during the past week and the other 19 who garnered the most points after the question-answer session basing on beauty, smart answers and the confidence they provided while responding. The lucky 20 contestants were selected basing on beauty (30 per cent), expression ( 30 %) and content (40%). The top 20 contestants going for the boot camp are: Uwase Ndahiro Liliane 56 500 votes (with automatic selection) Shanittah Munyana Irene Natasha Ursule Shemsa Munyana Karen Umuhoza Noriella Ishimwe Liliane Iradukunda Rebecca Umuhire Fiona Uwase Vanessa Irakoze Anastasia Umutoniwase Lydia Dushimimana Belinda Ingabire Divine Ingabire Belinda Uwonkunda Paula Umutoniwase Solange Uwineza Jordan Mushambokazi Gloria Nzakorerimana Charlotte Umutoni The selected contestants for the beauty pageant will depart for La Palisse Hotel Nyamata for the boot camp slated to start on February 9 until the beauty queen is officially announced at the Miss Rwanda 2018 grand finale two weeks later on February 24 at Kigali Convention Centre’s grand auditorium. The selection marked the climax of the nationwide auditions held in different provinces of the country since January 13.
