Three Azam Rwanda Premier League teams and one in the second division league have signed a five-year deal with Ruhago Sports Promoters aimed at help the teams to earn money from their supporters. According to the Managing Director of Ruhago Sports Promoters, Philemon Hagenimana, the supporters will use the code of *884# and follow the instructions which is registered on MTN Rwanda. No one will have the right to withdraw the money before it has been approved by the Club, MTN Rwanda and Ruhago Sports Promoters. The clubs include; Azam Rwanda Premier League leaders SC Kiyovu, Gicumbi FC and Amagaju FC as well Pépinière FC of the second division. They are in also talks with Espoir, APR FC, Musanze FC and Mukura Victory Sports. So far SC Kiyovu, who are enjoying a memorable season under Andre Casa Mbungo, lead in terms of money collected so far, after getting the Rwf300,000 in cash from their supporters. “We want to use this platform of helping our clubs to get sustainability from their fans so we have work together to achieve that target,” Hagenimana said on Friday. He added disclosed that, “The money will be for the team because it is their fans, who are supporting them but we will also have some percentage depending on what we have agreed with the team.” Hagenimana said his company plans to promote the scheme throughout the country to make sure that every fan will have the chance to (financially) support their team. “We are using technology platform which will help us and the clubs to monitor our dairy workings. We believe clubs will benefit from this idea as it will also help them to know how many fans they have,” Twagirimana explained.
