SOUTHERN PROVINCE MUHANGA—Over 50 deaf boys and girls from schools for the handicapped gathered together recently to enjoy a day in each other’s company, playing sports and make arts and crafts. Four schools of the handicapped held last week at Home de la Vierge des Paurves in Gatagara a congregation with students, as team-building excercises, as well as confidence-building games took place. The children also enjoyed packed lunches and sodas. “The event was aimed at having the kids enjoy a special day,” said Nix Love, director of Joint-Aid Management. “This was the third Deaf Sports and Craft Day and all the schools are looking forward to next term, to meet for another special day out.” “Their teachers have all learned sign language too but we didn’t need sign language to see that they were all enjoying themselves,” he added.
