Editor, RE: “Respect EAC integration fundamentals” (The New Times, December 26). My view is exactly the opposite; keep the Council out of the Assembly’s business. Yes, the election was fractitious, but the EALA managed to accomplish its task, which was to elect its own Speaker, in a democratic way as laid down by its rules and procedures. Parliamentary processes were never meant to be consensual, and what we saw in Arusha were members exercising their prerogatives fully. Mwene Kalinda
