Gasogi United forward Serge Kabanda has been voted as Primus National League player of the month for January 2024. The youngster won the monthly accolade beating off competition from APR midfielder Jean Bosco Ruboneka, AS Kigali's Jean Bosco Akayezu and Musanze striker Solomon Adeyinka. He since settled in the team quickly and enjoyed impressive performance in January. One of the most notable performances form the forward was against Rayon Sports when he scored a brace to help his team stun the Blues 2-1 at Kigali Pele Stadium on January 12. “I am so excited for this award and I thank my teammates and the coach for helping me to achieve this. I am going to work hard to improve my performance,” Kabanda said after receiving his Rwf1,000,000 cheque for the award during the awarding night on ISIBO TV on Wednesday night. He drew goalless with Bugesera on January 13, pipped Kiyovu 1-0 on January 20 before wrapping up the month with another 1-0 victory over Gasogi on January 27.
