Gasogi United joined Police FC into the Peace Cup semifinals after eliminating APR FC from the quarterfinals on penalties on Wednesday. Gasogi defeated APR FC 4-3 on penalties after the pair played out a goalless draw after 180 minutes from both legs played at Kigali Pele Stadium. It was an evenly matched game with both teams creating a host of chances but failing to utilize them. Thierry Froger brought back fit again Victor Mbaoma in attack whereas Sharaf Eldin Shaiboub partnered Ismail Nshimirimana in midfield, leaving Taddeo Lwanga on the bench. Gasogi were, on the other hand, very fluid in the attacking end of the field with Akbar Muderi in the thick of affairs as he created some decent chances. With the game ending 0-0 within regulation time, forcing the game into penalty shootouts. Gasogi scoring four while APR managed to score three, leaving the former set a semifinal date with Police FC who saw off Gorilla FC in the quarterfinals. Moro Sumaila netted a penalty before Chukwuma Odili added the second as Police FC beat Gorilla 2-1. The security service club sailed through on a 4-1 aggregate. Bugesera FC secured their last four berth after beating Mukura VS 1-0 at Huye Stadium. They will face Rayon Sports in the semifinals.
