Nyarutarama-based Christian Life Assembly (CLA) will present an internationally evangelistic drama ‘Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames’ this week, starting today evening through Sunday. The 1:30 minute dramatic performance, that involves special sound and visual effects, stage sets, costumes and a cast, will be starting at 6p.m. The production has been staged at Christian Life Assembly for several years now. The evangelical church stages the Christmas Cantata around this time every year. Fabrice Nzeyimana, the music director and one of the organisers, said the change came after a resolution passed to explain to people Jesus’ reason for coming to this earth and not just his birth, based on a scripture in John 3:16. “Many people just focus on the gifts and Jesus’ birth and tend to ignore the last part of the scripture, which is the eternal life depending on the choices one makes in life. This is what the production is about,” he explained. The shows are free and open to the public. Nzeyimana noted that children below the age of eight (8) will strictly not be allowed to enter because of the scary scenes in the production. The play is based on an evangelical presentation of the Gospel, and presents the Biblical message that one must believe in Jesus Christ in order to be saved and go to Heaven, or otherwise face eternal punishment in Hell.
