Former National University of Rwanda (NUR) left-attacker Olivier Ntagengwa has joined Rwanda Energy Group (REG) ahead of the upcoming volleyball national league, which will kick-off on January 13, 2018. The 25-year-old Rwanda international has been playing for University of Kibungo (UNIK) for the last three seasons. He has penned a one-year contract. “Ntagengwa is now our player, we are happy to have him, his experience will be vital for us in the coming season. We hope that he and the other new players will play a huge role in the club’s ambitions,” head Coach Jean Paul Mana told Times Sport. The former Christ Roi coach added: “He is a great addition to our club given his experience and his ability to jump high and block with accuracy.” “Apart from Ntagengwa, we have also signed other talented players in a bid to have a good squad next season. He (Ntagengwa) is one of the best players in the country and it’s a pleasure to have him in our team, the younger players will learn a lot from him,” he noted. Among REG’s new signings are; Martial Inkoramutima, from Petit Seminaire Virgos Fidelis de Butare; Flavier Ndamukunda and Pierre Marshal Kwizera, from reigning league champions Gisagara; Simeon Rwigema, from second division side Rusumo High School; and Sylvester Ndayisaba, from Kirehe.
