It’s been long since gospel artiste Israel Mbonyi, one of the renowned gospel artistes in the country, released any new album. Now, after an equally long absence from the music scene, Mbonyi is finally back with his latest studio album titled Intashyo nshya. The new album from this talented musician will be launched on December 10, at Kigali Conference Centre and Exhibition Village. He noted the album, his second since his debut in 2015, consists six tracks. Some of the songs on the new album include Indahiro, Marembo y’ijuru, Sinzibagirwa, Hari ubuzima ibihe and Intashyo, the cover of the album. The 25-year-old singer and song-writer said the album was mainly about thanking the Lord for the journey he has travelled so far in the challenging music industry. “It is all about God’s love and my life experience in the musical journey. He helped me cope with the obstacles I met as I tried to make a breakthrough in the music industry,” he said. His single, Sinzibagirwa, talks about God’s love, thanksgiving and recognition in relation to Rwanda’s healing process after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. “Rwandans have recovered from the tragic past. However, it would be very absurd in if we forget the achievements that have been registered with the help of God,” he added. The concert is free. Popular local artistes expected at the epoch event are; Aime Uwimana, Aline Gahongayire, Serge Iyamuremye and several choirs. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
