Central African Republic (CAR) President, Faustin Archange Touadéra, alongside the First lady on Saturday October 1, invited and shared dinner with 200 senior officers of Rwandan forces at his home in Damara district, Central African Republic. During the ceremony, Rwandan Forces showcased a cultural dance and martial arts as part of the event’s entertainment. President Touadéra commended Rwandan counterpart President Paul Kagame, and thanked Rwanda for the support and collaboration in maintaining security in CAR. Rwandan Contingent commander, Col Egide Ndayizeye, thanked President Touadéra for the warm reception and also commended the good cooperation with CAR Armed Forces in ensuring the security of the Central African Republic. In a related development, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Central African Republic Armed Forces (FACA) in charge of operations, Brig Gen Freddy Sakama, on Sunday concluded a week-long working visit in Rwanda. The visit was aimed at strengthening existing defence cooperation between respective armed forces. While in Rwanda, Brig Gen Sakama and his delegation visited the RDF headquarters and different RDF military institutions where they received several briefings. They also paid respect to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at Kigali Genocide Memorial and the Campaign Against Genocide Museum.
