Do you dream and do you ever recall your dreams when you wake up? These sound like silly questions but I know people who swear they don’t ever dream. Personally, I literally dream everytime I close my eyes and that could be during a nap on a Sunday Afternoon or at 6:00am on a Monday Morning after I hit the snooze button on my alarm for the third time. I dream about any and everything, from work to shopping to food. I don’t have nightmares per se, with the exception of the free falling and flood related dreams from which I usually waken before hitting the ground or somehow make it to the other side regarding the water so I have to commend my brain or whoever’s in charge of my dreams. Other “unpleasant” dreams I have time to time involve planes crashing or losing loved ones which I have to say is pretty depressing and I’m always grateful once I realize that it was all just a dream but overall, I wouldn’t say I have bad dreams, considering that some people dread going to bed because they have scary dreams on the regular. My dreams are pretty vivid to the extent that I can relay the story most of the time. The strange thing though is that while they’re clear, it’s never just one line of thought or a specific incident but rather a string of events. I will for instance start out hanging with friends then drift off to a church event and end up on a trip with my favorite Primary School teacher! I did mention Church and I have to say I probably read too much into this particular one but I take the fact that I tend to dream about the actual Church I go to regularly to mean that it’s authentic so I’m not about to worship elsewhere! It’s always me getting up to dance to a good song, walking up to the front or greeting friends on my way out. Good vibes, right? I dream about houses too. You all know I’m yet to get my dream house and hopefully, these dreams mean I’m close to realizing that! My other recurrent dream is food, which I don’t find surprising because I love food. When I say I have vivid dreams, believe me because I have it down to my favourite dishes and in fact the aroma. I find the latter odd because if say I woke up to a plate of chips or a neighbor whipping up something, it would make sense but there’s usually nothing cooking in the vicinity, so to speak, to explain what I just dreamt about. One other thing about my food dreams, I never get to taste it! Most times, I wander off looking for a fork or I’m waiting for company. Other times, I will help myself to a sumptuous buffet and just when I’m about to take a bite, I wake up! Not fair!
