Emmanuel Ruterana squandered his chance to finish second in the lucrative MTN Mug of mugs after returning a wobbly 74 on the fourth and final day at Kitante golf course. The BCR sponsored golfer returned an overall aggregate of 291, 14 strokes adrift of eventual winner Dismas Ndiza. Uganda’s Deo Akope finished second with 285. Ndiza bagged Shs 1.6m while the other nine golfers in the top ten shared Shs 8.4m. After his performance, Ndiza who also set a new Kitante course record of 64 said, “I was calm because I was under no pressure. I just wanted to keep afloat and take the money home. When I grasped the course it was pretty easy because I could get to the green in few shots. The prize money is quite good and I enjoyed the game.” Ends
