It’s my great pleasure to express my curiosity through your paper about the world’s renowned celebrities who are soon to set foot in the “Land of a thousand hills.” Following the recent news in the Sunday Times, “In the Grapevine,” it was reported that the former world’s international soccer star and French born, Zinedine Zidane, together with many African professional players, playing for different European clubs will be arriving in the country sometime this month. I have also learnt that America’s renowned socialist and heir to Hilton; Paris Hilton will also be visiting soon after the departure of the “gods” of football. Certainly, this sounds pretty good, and I guess their visit has been timely, since Rwanda has been known worldwide for her 1994 atrocities that saw a million of innocent lives perish in just months. However, my question here is, are these guys coming over for charity reasons, or basically to profile themselves. Anyway, whichever the case it maybe, I urge fellow countrymen, and the government in particular, not be over excited over the stars’ flocking the country, but on what we intend to benefit from them. Meanwhile, lets’ keep our ears on ground and keep watching their manoeuvres. Kacyiru
