Sunday, February 11 Finals Men APR 26-24 Police Women Kiziguro 25-18 Falcons APR Handball Club won their record fourth Heroes’ Day Cup after narrowly overcoming Police 26-24 in the final held at Kimisagara Youth Centre on Sunday, February 11. ALSO READ: Handball: Police drawn in Group A at Heroes Day tourney The army side finished at the summit of Group B after beating Musanze handball Academy, TTC de La Salle and Gorillas to set a date with Police in the final. The two security sides were tied to 12-12 at the break before APR came out victorious with 26-24 to lift the title. ALSO READ: Handball: Heroes Day tourney due February 10 “We were well prepared, and it paid off,” said APR coach Anaclet Bagirishya after Sunday’s final victory over Police. “We are now going back on board to prepare for the national championship.” In the women's category, Kiziguro won the trophy after beating Three Stars, ESC Nyamagabe and Falcons on a round-robin basis to finish at the top. This year’s edition brought together 16 teams including 10 in the men’s category, and six in the women’s fray.
