Egyptian President Abdel Fatta Al-Sisi concluded his two-day visit to Rwanda with a powerful message for his host and the Rwandan people. Writing in the guestbook at the airport shortly before his departure yesterday, the Egyptian President noted that he was moved by his visit. “What I have seen during my visit and the character of the Rwandan people is something to revere and should be complemented. It is a demonstration of quality leadership by Kagame,” Sisi wrote. The Egyptian President noted that the progress the Rwandan people have made is a result of the smart choices and ideas implemented under Kagame’s leadership. “This country [Rwanda] experienced a tragedy, but after that came good and happiness with President Kagame at the forefront,” he added. President Sisi further pointed out that his country will always be ready to work with Rwanda in the quest for peace and security. The Egyptian President concluded his note wishing Rwandans and their leadership more progress based on values and dignity – qualities that are rare today. “I’m happy with the visit to Rwanda and the friendship with you [Kagame]. I hope to see you in your second country – Egypt,” Sisi wrote.
