Uganda seek to finish job in Kigali

Aug. 19: Second legRwanda vs. Uganda (0-3) Uganda Cranes interim head coach, Moses Basena has vowed that they will come to Rwanda to finish the job against Amavubi in the return leg of 2018 CHAN third round qualifier due on Saturday at Kigali Stadium. Rwanda lost the first leg tie 3-0 on Saturday at St. Mary’s Kitende Stadium in Kampala. Striker Muzamir Mutyaba scored a brace in the 18th and 25th minutes while Derrick Nsibambi added the third goal in the 49th minute to give Hey’s team a near-impossible task in the second leg. Uganda is expected in country on Friday morning, “This is just the first half of the two matches. The second and most decisive match will be on Saturday. I therefore call upon the players to stay focused because it is work half done,” he said. “We were up to the task. The players knew exactly what they wanted from the word go. We shall continue to work hard because we still have a game to finish the job. Each of the matches means a lot to any of us on the team,” Basena said. Skipper and first choice goalkeeper, Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye will be back in action after missing the first leg against Uganda through suspension. The overall winner on aggregate will book a berth to the final tournament in Kenya, come 2018.
