Kiyovu Sports head coach Joslin Bipfubusa has heaped praise on his players following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Gasogi United in the Primus National League week 19 encounter at Kigali Pele Stadium. The Green Baggies were the first to find the back of the net thanks to a 13th-minute finish from Hakim Tuyisenge before Dany Niyongira pulled even for Gasogi six minutes later. They played very well, that's why we didn't lose the match. We made a high pressing in Gasogi’s half which was quite good, he told the press. Gasogi’s game against Kiyovu is a derby and it could have gone either way. This season’s league is tough, and all clubs are playing well. Kiyovu has been hit with financial crisis that, leaving players and coaches go four months without getting paid their salaries. The crisis affected the club’s performance on the pitch hence going from title contender last season to a middle table team this season. Asked whether the current situation has in any way affected the team's on-pitch results, the Burundian emphasized that he is not in charge of administrative duties as his work is on the field. Payment of salaries is an administrative matter, it’s not part of my responsibilities. My work is on the pitch,he said. Kiyovu sit seventh on the league table with 24 points from 19 games.
