Dear Editor, Allow me to express my dissatisfaction with Jaguar Bus Company for hiking transport fares by 50 percent. Currently passengers are being charged Shs30.000 (Rwf10,000) from Kampala to Kigali and have to part with Shs40.000 from Kigali to Kampala. This is reaping off the traveling public. Yes, we all know that Jaguar is a private company, but I imagine it should be regulated by the same laws other transport operators in Rwanda are subjected to. Let me hope Jaguar is not importing transporters’ habit of tripling fares, ahead of the festive season. I therefore ask the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA), the transport industry regulator to protect passengers from being reaped off their hard earned money. If RURA delays to act now, other transporters may also hike the fares. However, we thank Jaguar for their consistence in plying the Kigali-Kampala route. We hope that they can improve services and also charge uniform fares like the Rwanda Government bus company—Onatracom. Kimihurura
