Rayon Sports central defender Fiston Munezero is on the brink of completing a move to Tanzania Vodacom Premier League side Simba Sports Club, Times Sport has learnt. Munezero is already in Dar es Salaam undergoing trials and is expected to feature for Simba during their pre-season. The Tanzanian 2017/18 league season will start in October. “Yes I have travelled to Tanzania to continue talks with Simba and so far, everything is looking fine. I may sign the contract soon but I have to first prove my capability during friendly matches that the club plans to organise in the coming weeks,” Munezero said. Meanwhile, Rayon Sports attacking midfielder Mustapha Nsegiyumva is another player close to leaving the league champions and is reported to be heading to league rivals, Police FC. Munezero and Nsengiyumva, who joined from local second division side Isonga FC and Burundian giants Vital’O, respectively, have spent two seasons with Rayon Sports and are both reported to have turned down offers for contract extension. Another midfielder, Fabrice Mugheni Kakure, is reported to have agreed terms with AS Kigali and if this deal materialises, it could see Eric ‘Zidane’ Nsabimana cross to Rayon Sports, who have also opened talks with Sunrise FC captain Ally Serumogo as well as Pepinierre striker, Gilbert Mugisha. Rwanda internationals APR right-back Michel Ruseshangoga and Police striker Dany Usengimana have also signed deals with newly promoted Tanzania Premier League side, Singida United. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
