Editor, RE: “Affordable housing developers urged to partner with poor landowners” (The New Times, May 29). These houses could have cost much less if their roofing was well designed. Even in countries where it snows, the elevation of these roofs would be considered too steep. These houses would have needed less roofing materials if the roof’s elevations were lower. If we are going to succeed in providing cheaper houses to Rwandans, we should first review how we design them. Semugeshi
