Rayon Sports star midfielder Joackiam Ojera has left the club to join Egyptian Premier League side Al Mokawloon on an undisclosed deal. The Ugandan is said to have had an impasse with the management of the club after arriving late from the Christmas holidays. Times Sport understands that Rayon Sports received $20,000 for Ojera who had 18 months left on his contract, having signed a two-year contract extension in August. The Blues confirmed the player’s departure on Saturday, January 27. “All the best to Joackiam Ojera for his next chapter in Egypt. Having spent a year with our club, he will be remembered for his positive contributions,” ALSO READ: Ojera agrees two year-deal with Rayon Sports Ojera, 26, joined Rayon Sports from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC in January 2023 on an initial six month deal with an option for a permanent deal. He guided the Blues to the 2022/23 Peace Cup trophy after which they signed him permanently for a reported fee of Rwf18 million. He becomes the second Ugandan player to leave Rayon this window after Musa Esenu joined Bul FC on a two-year deal.
