The defending champions made a flying start defeating Heroes’ Day Tournament champions, IPRC-Kigali 80-54, in their Group A opener on Friday night and a win this evening would see them advance to the last four slated for next week. However, they will have to dig deep to get the win against a side coached by former Espoir trainer Jean Bahufite that has had a very excellent campaign and are on the blink of winning the regular season league title in their first season. Group A comprises three teams and REG will be playing their first game before they face IPRC-Kigali in the second game. Meanwhile, in Group B, reigning league champions Patriots and playoffs champions IPRC-South will lock horns with each seeking for a win to boost their hopes to advance to the semi-final after both won their opening games.
