Rwandan music stars Kevin Kade and Deejay Pius will headline the halftime show of the Legacy Tournament finals scheduled for Saturday, January 27, at BK Arena. Kenny Mugarura, the vice president of Rwanda's United Generation Basketball (UGB), the organisers of the competition alongside Ferwaba, confirmed the development to The New Times on Thursday January 25, saying that more big names could be added to the line-up before D-day. For now, we have DJ Pius and Kevin Kade as the main headliners for the finals, but we are also considering adding more artistes to the line-up. The aim is to connect basketball and Rwandan music industry in every possible way, he said. The tournament comes a week after singer Bruce Melodie and his manager Coach Gael, invested in UGB as a contribution to the development of the youth through sports and music. Organised by UGB in partnership with the local basketball federation (FERWABA), the Legacy Tournament has been held annually since 2018, to honour the club's founders, Championat Aimable and Jean De Dieu Nizeyimana, who pioneered the team's legacy of promoting, developing and empowering future leaders and athletes through the game of basketball. A total of 13 teams have confirmed their participation in the upcoming tournament, which will take place in Kigali from January 25-27.
