Emirati road bicycle racing team, UAE Team Emirates, will line up a youth team to compete at the Tour du Rwanda 2024 slated for February 18 to 25. The Asian cycling powerhouse becomes the latest addition to the lineup of 20 teams confirmed for the eight-day cycling event replacing the Italian national cycling team who pulled out of the race for unspecified reasons. UAE Team Emirates is home to Slovenian professional cyclist Tadej Pogacar who won the popular Tour de France two times in 2020 and 2021. The team competes at UCI WorldTeam level and has done so since the UCI World Tour was formed as the top category of road cycling in 2005. The winner of the 2024 edition will dethrone Eritrean rider Henok Mulubrhan (Eritrea) who won the race in 2023 with Italian UCI Pro team Green Project Bardiani–CSF.
