Point guard Odile Tetero has joined Rwanda Energy Group (REG) women basketball club on a two-year deal, Times Sport can confirm. Her move was confirmed by REG Women coach Esperance Mukaneza who hopes to build a team around her ahead of the new basketball league season which tips off on February 9. Tetero, 25, signs for the REG-powered team after two successful seasons at APR Women with whom she won the championship during the 2023 season. She was at the time named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Rwanda Basketball League playoffs. One of her recent top displays was in the FIBA Zone V women’s championship, in October 2023, when she posted 21 points in a game between APR and Burundi’s Gladiators. After a hiatus in 2017 due to college commitments, she signed with REG women's basketball in 2021, contributing to their first league title win. She was part of the Rwandan women’s national team during the Zone 5 Afrobasket qualifiers in 2021. She played a pivotal role in the team's fourth-place finish at the 2023 Women’s Afrobasket, showcasing her skills with averages of 1.4 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
