Last week, social media was set ablaze with photos and videos of singer and songwriter Niyo Bosco frolicking with a beautiful young lady, the couple appearing very much loved-up. In one of the videos, the singer and the lady are seen sharing a drink joyously as he held on to his guitar. The ‘Piyapuresha’ singer posted the woman who was identified as Keza Nabrizza, but later he deleted the posts causing an uproar on social media. Many speculated that the singer, who is trying to reinvent himself after a hiatus from music for nearly three years, was engaging in acts locally known as ‘Gutwika’ in the showbiz industry. Basically, when an artiste or film producer is trying to release something – could be an album or movie, they engage in acts that can be a bit controversial, to make the public talk about them and then leverage the noise to release whatever they want to release. Such has been the speculation about the visually impaired artiste, who is looking to put behind the managerial and personal challenges that rendered him redundant, at least musically, for more than two years. The singer, who recently announced his new upcoming EP, dubbed ‘New Chapter’, was accused of playing the gimmick which can often backfire if badly played out, but he came out to put a stop to the rumours. His new management, Kikac Music, confirmed to a local website that they asked him to delete the posts because “they were not in line with the profession.” However, they did not confirm or deny rumours that the singer was in love, because it is a private issue. The following day, on January 17, the singer posted the photo of the lady, captioning it: “Cutie Pie”, and she responded, “the journey is now”, the couple seemingly defying his management. The singer, who released the first song on his upcoming five-track EP, titled ‘Eminado’, is looking to get his career back on track. The EP, which was produced by some of the best producers in Rwanda including Prince Kiiiz, Santana, X on The Beat and Loader, will bring back Niyo Bosco into the music fold after parting ways with his former manager Irene Murindahabi. He accused the journalist-turned-manager and his label MIE of defrauding him of his revenues and they parted ways on October 28, 2022. Niyo Bosco won the hearts of many when he broke out on the music scene, showcasing his immense musical talent and proving that his visual disability does not hold him back. His songs such as: 'Ubigenza Ute' ‘Piyapuresha’, ‘Ishyano’, ‘Seka’, ‘Urugi’ and many others won him legions of fans in Rwanda and beyond. Over the past couple of years, Niyo Bosco started showing signs of dissatisfaction with his management, lamenting about not getting proceeds from his musical work, even at one time posting a long, worrisome post speaking about his mental health.
