Editor, RE: “200 home-based healthcare givers graduate” (The New Times, March 15). The Government of Rwanda, through its various ministries and agencies, constantly strives to support its citizens. The initiative taken by the Ministry of Health to train 211 home care practitioners in palliative care is commendable. Health is always a priority sector for any country. This innovative scheme will go a long way in making health care available and affordable to the people even in remote parts of the country. It is relevant to share with your esteemed readers that during the ongoing health care week, a partner hospital from Mumbai has flown in their top management team to meet and discuss with the Ministry of Health and all concerned agencies on how to further improve this vital sector. Through partnerships like these, Rwanda will soon become a medical and wellness tourism hub for the EAC. Clarence Fernandes
