Telugu Royals will face off with Kigali Cricket Club in the final of the V.R.NAIDU T20 cricket tournament on Sunday at Kicukiro Cricket ground. Telugu Royals qualified for the final after defeating defending champions Challengers by 10 wickets at Kicukiro Cricket ground last Sunday. Telugu won the toss, but opted to bat first. Challengers made 62 runs with a loss of 8 wickets in 16 overs. However, the game was interrupted by rain which jeopardised the performance of the players in the second innings. “Winning the title remains our major focus,” said Ramu Morampudt, Telugu Royals team Captain. Meanwhile, Challengers Cricket Club captain Srinath Vardhineni admitted that the entire team is disappointed that “we have failed to defend a title that we have been winning over the last four years.” V.R.NAIDU T20 cricket tournament was launched in 2013 and since then challengers have won it four times. Kigali Cricket Club advanced to the final after defeating Kerala Hunters, the game that also took place on Sunday.
