Rwanda national football league side Sunrise FC have hired former Police FC coach Andre Casa Mbungo as their new head coach replacing Nigerian Andrew Ibeh, according to the club president Bosco Ndungutse. Ndungutse said Ibeh was relieved of his duties over what he described as “indiscipline.” Mbungo, who will make his bow for today’s league match against Marines FC at Umuganda Stadium, will be approved during the club’s management meeting on Tuesday. Nyagatare-based Sunrise are in 13th position in the league table with 18 points after winning four, drawing six and losing six of the 16 matches. Ibeh took over at the start of the season, signing a two-year contract until end of the 2017/18 campaign. The 48-year-old has been jobless since losing the Police FC job in June 2016 following a run of poor results and was replaced by Innocent Seninga. Ndungutse said, “ Casa Mbungo will take charge of this weekend’s fixture against Marines because we have lost our head coach. On Tuesday we will decide the details of the contract during the management meeting.” Mbungo’s track record includes winning two Peace Cup titles with two different clubs. He first won it with AS Kigali in 2013 before repeating the feat with Police in 2015.
