The news of singer Meddy shifting to gospel music was not welcomed well by many listeners who had loved him for the melodic love songs from the past decade. The singer who has had a few gospel songs like ‘Holy Spirit’ and ‘Ungirira Ubuntu’ among others, released ‘Grateful’ after confirming a new life. In a recent interview with ‘Boarding Pass Nation’, Meddy stated that he once had a dream and he woke up a different person. The singer who had shared that he was satisfied with his secular music said that his heart wasn’t truly invested. Through his music, he fervently delivers an uncensored message of hope and redemption, touching the hearts of many with raw authenticity. Meddy’s new song has over 350, 000 views in 21 hours on YouTube. Kelia Umwiza, a music enthusiast says the song is something else from lyrics to the melodies of the two artistes, you could feel the the words coming from a deep place and thst he has really seen God’s goodness. “ This is something many people can relate to and the fact that we do, makes Meddy’s music admirable. The power in his voice when singing made me love the song and I look forward to such beautiful gospel songs from him,” Umwiza said. George Ishimwe says when he released ‘ Grateful’ which he also claimed is a good song, the transition was new to people which might have been why the song didn’t trend like his new one. “ I think now we have kind of gotten used to the fact that he is a gospel musician who is gracing people with his music that embodies a sense of Christianity and hope. Princia Teta who has been a big fan of Meddy and gospel music for a long time now, was inspired by the song’s message that gives hope and healing to listeners. She says it makes no difference now that he is doing gospel music. “ The new song is indeed one of the best he has ever made and that is why it has been trending on people’s status. You cannot imagine how many times I have listened to this song since it came out,” says Teta. For John Kagire who says he is a fan of Meddy regardless of the type of music he does, the new music is very inspiring and such a good tune that he is known for. Kagire looks forward to more gospel music from the singer. Other gospel songs include ‘Ungirira Ubuntu', ‘Holy Spirit’, Ntacyo Nzaba by Adrien Misigaro he was featured in, and his latest single ‘Grateful’.
