Zappy Ishimwe The released duo include Issa Zappy Ishimwe, who signed from Sunrise FC, and Nicholas Mahoro, who signed as a free agent at the start of the season. Both failed to break into the first team. While confirming the duo’s exit, Rayon Sports secretary general Olivier Gakwaya said, “The two players have been asked to pursue their career elsewhere because the coach doesn’t feel they are in his plans for the club going forward.” The Rwanda Peace Cup holders are expected to leave Kigali today (Friday) ahead of Saturday’s clash, which will be played in the South Sudan capital, Juba. The return leg is scheduled a week later in Kigali. Meanwhile, Gakwaya revealed that Rayon are planning to bring Malian striker Tidiane Kone for trials when the team returns from South Sudan. If Djuma Masudi’s side progress from this round, they will face Onze Creatures of Mali in the first qualification round. Winners of both the preliminary round and round of 16 will after drawing of lots, be placed into four groups of four teams each.
