Final leader board Kenya 22 ptsTanzania 18.5ptsUganda 12ptsBurundi 5ptsRwanda 2.5pts Rwanda’s golf contingent at this year’s East African Golf Challenge in Mombassa, Kenya is eager to shake off a dreadful performance that saw the country record its worst ever outing in the competition. Despite salvaging two and half points in the final round, Rwanda was still 2 ½ points behind Burundi who finished fourth. Without a point after two rounds, the 2.5 points picked up on the final day could not rescue the visitors who failed to come to terms with the windy conditions at the par 72 Leisure Golf Club course in Mombassa, Kenya. Tanzanians, coached by Kenyan professional golfer Charles Farrah fell behind for the runners-up place with a score of 18.5 points while Ugandans rounded off the top three after amassing 12 points. The title was Kenya’s eighth in the regional competition which dates back to 1999. In 2001, Kenya lost to Uganda and to Tanzania the following year. Next year’s edition will be held in Uganda. Ends
